MERCER.
MERCER TOWN BOARD At the meeting of the Mercer Town Board held on Thursday 10th May, there were present Messrs G. Morgon (chairman), M. Gallery, J. T. Gillibrand with the Clerk (Mr C. Norris). LEASE OF QUARRY RESERVE As no 'satisfactory tenders had been received in respect of the leasing of the Reserve it was decided to ask the Domain Board to take it over and by so doing it was thought a larger income would accrue as the Domain paddock was so often Hooded. AUsEXT MEMBER Owing to the continued absence from the meetings of Mr Smith, who had left the district but had not given any notification of his desire to resign, it was decided to write enquiring if ho intended to return or resign his position as a member of the Board. METAL Mr Butler was authorised to crush sufficient metal for the repair of the roads where necessary and to do the work. The United Timber Company are now busy executing oulers for timber. Thero had been some delay owing to the break down of tho towing boat but this had again been put in working order and the hauling of timber is being proceeded with. The School Commit' ee have arranged to hold a concert on Friday the 26th, the object being to raise sufficient money to pay the balunce owing on the account for the erection of the Honours Board at tho Liall.
