PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

At last Wednesday's meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council Cr Patterson mentioned that the Nursing Home Road required attention and it was decided to refer the matter to the Works Committee. Cr Patterson also drew attention to the state of the road off East Street from Mr Ridgeway's to Mr Reynolds' which he described as nothing less than a " cattle track." It was an urgent matter and he asked that it should be repaired at once.—lt was agreed that this should be done.

Cr Armstrong drew attention to the state of Nelson Street, leading to the Power House and it was decided to have this road formed and metalled.

On the motion of the Mayor it was resolved that a programme of work for the next twelve months should be presented by the Works Committee.

Cr Patterson suggested that the rates should in future be struck half yearly, contending that the Council would then get the money six months earlier. —It was agreed to refer the question to the Finance Committee for consideration.
