HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETINGS.

The annual meetings of householders were held yesterday throughout the Auckland Education Board's district.

PUKEKOHE. At Pukekohe the attendance numbered about, 3C and gratifying reports of the scnool's progress weie submitted.

For the nine seats on the Committee there were fifteen nominations and on a vote Messrs A. F. Brown, F. .Perkins, J. Pilkington, J. Patterson, J. Bellhouse, W. Wyatt, T. Y. Kirkman, the Eev S Nixon, and Eb. Smith were elected in the order named, the unsuccessful candidates being Messrs F. Jackson, H. J. Rollinson, H £ Smith, Hindman, Hard, and Lysnar. Messrs Wyatt and Kirkman, and the Key S. Nixon are new members of the committee. The committee subsequently met and Mr Frank Perkins was reappointed chairman. TUAKAU. The customary struggle between the residents of the northern and southern portions of the Tuakau School district again characterised the meeting of householders last evening and once more " the South " ticket, which comprised the five retiring members of the Committee, was successful.

Each party ran five candidates, the representatives of " the South " being Messrs J. J Dromgool, E. T. Frost, F. Lain?, Hugh McGuire and W. R. Cole. The " Town " candidates were Messrs M. MacFarland, Dynes Fulton, J. Pirret, W. Smeed junr., and W. Booker. The result of the voting was as follows-Elected: Cole 79, Frost 78, Dromgool 76, McGuire 75, Laing 75 Unsuccessful : Booker 69, MacFarland 69, Smeed 67, Pir.et 66, Fulton 65. PUNI

Motor cars and other conveyances " whipping in " householders for the meeting at Puni savoured of a parliamentary election, the "Fulton v. Landon " struggle beiugonce again in evidence. With both parties having Messrs H. Rogers and McClune on their ticket, the "Fulton label" also included Messrs J. Black, Hastings and Donald, whilst the "Landon nominees" were Messrs Preece, Nichols and Landon.

The result of the voting was : Elected: Rogers 81, McClune 74, Black 48, Hastings 48, Donald 47. Unsuccessful: Landon 43, Preece 41, Nichols 28. Messrs Lindon, Preece, and Nichols, together with Messrs McClune and C A Kidd, formed the old committee.
