WHANGAMARINO.

A FARMER'S APPEAL. At the sitting of the Military Service Board iii Hamilton last Wednesday Mr F. L Tilsley, farmer, Whangaraarino, appealed as he was the owner of a farm of some 207 acres, and was supporting his father, who was about 80 years of age. He had one brother at the front, his two other brothers being in the second division. From the evidence of th 9 appellant it did not appear that the farm of the appellent was producing much.—The Board considered that it should be comparatively easy to arrange for a comfortable home for the father with his married sons or daughters, and they decided that Tilsley would be doing better service for the country by going to the front. Tbey gave him until 31st May to arrange his affairs.
