ANNUAL REPORT
A statement of the allairs of the Puni School Committeo for tho year ending December olsf, shows the total income for tho year to have been £37 is od, and tho expenditure £24 Is (id, leaving a credit balance of £lo 5s During tho year a hue new school, replete with every modern equipment, was opened by tho Chairman of the Education Board (Mr Garland) while, thanks to the energy and foresight of the < ommittee, ably presided over by Mr J. Landon, a number of much needed improvements wore carried out in the school premises. Amongst tbeso is a handy shelter shed for tho saddles and bridles of tho.se children riding to school. Tho old fence in front of the school has also boon removed and its place taken by a neat fence with top rail morticed. Tho playgrounds have also been very much improved. A hue 15ft flagstaff was also placed in a prominent position and a harnlsomo 12ft Now Zealand Ensign procured for the same. Most cordial relations have existed between the committee and the teaching staff, a fact that has no doubt contributed to the high state of efficiency the school as evidenced by tho Inspector's report, which shows that all pupils presented at the ordinary examination passed, whilst at the Proficiency Examination, out of live candidates four passed and tho liftfi received a certificate of competency.
