In the forenoon three rinks from the Papatoetoe Bowling Club played against the Howick bowlers ; and again in the afternoon three games were played, the teauis changing from the morning play. Several ladies came with the bowlers from Papatoetoe and during the day played croquet against members of the Howick Croquet Club, with the result that the Papatoetoe ladies won three games and the Howick ladies five games. The lady members of the Howie* Club provided refreshments. The scores were in the forenoon (Papatoetoe being mentioned first) : Cutforth, Western, Bryett, Daisley 18 v. Hambrook, Bennet, Gerring, Granger 20. Leonard, Beaney, Jenkins, Watson 20 v. Brickell, Morrison, Gill, Millen 21. Gane, Galloway, Coles, Andrew 29 v. Allen, Jones, Waltron, Johnson 10. In the afternoon :-- Leonard, Beaney, Jenkins, Watson 20 v. llambro. k, Bennet, Gerring, Grander, 23. Gane, Gilloway, Coles, Andrew 28 v. Biickel), Morris m, Gill, Millen 18. Cutforth, Western, Bryott, DaisIcy 9 v. Allen, Jones, Waldron, Johnson -12. Totals : Papatoetoe, 124 ; Howick, 34; Howick winning by 10 in the aggregate. On Wednesday last two teams of bowlers from Onehuuga journeyed to Papatoetoe and played friendly games with the local trains The following were the score?, the Onehunga players being men'iontd first in each instance : Bintoul, Harris, Maclowry, Brown 22 beat Gane, Knight, Junking Hall 16. Clarkson, Kuight, James, Court 28 beat Trimble, Bryett, Biyant, Watson 22. Other Club games resulted : Farnsworth, Finlayson, Western, Daisley 17 v. Timewell, Gall >way, Woolley, Chapman 20 Bwaffield, Barton, Leonard 23 v. Cutforth, Wills, Gladding IQ, Last Thursday inter club games played on the Papatoetoe Green were : Papatoetoe (Galloway, Gladding, Jenkin, Daisley) 11 lost to Mt Eden (White, Dixon Cnllnnd, Hudsoi) 31, and Papatoetoe (Bryett, Weston, Hall, Watson) 21 beat Mt. Eden Robertson, Smith. Rt-id) 19. Carlton—First year team (Overy, Hall, Knight, Cross) 20 beat Papatoetoe—selected team (Wills, Cutforth, McCulloch, Knight) 17. At Papatoetoe last Tuesday Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons conducted a dispersal sale of Messrs Morel and and Sou's Beachland herd of registered pedigree cattle. There was a record attendance, buyers being present from all parts of the North Island Competition was good and we repott a most successful sale. The best cows realised from 90gns to 165gns, six averaging llOgns ; other cows, 30gns to 80gns; pick of the heifers, 60gns to 80gns ; yearling heifers and heifer calves, 30gns to 60gns.
