WAERENGA.

THE ANNUAL PIDNIC. Oae of the most successful local picnics of recent years was held on Thursday, the loth inst, by the residents and settlers of Waerenga Valley combined with the annual school treat. The perfect weather secured a record attendance and the energetic Committee left nothing undone towards making the day a most enjoyable one. They are to be specially commended on their selection of grounds, for instead of following a precept of recent years and spending the day locally, the residents were taken a few miles back to the property of Mr James Muir, senr, which with its natural bush scenery made an ideal spot for picnic making.
