|The Papatoetoe Agent for the"Pukekoke Times" is Mr W. J. Dilworth from whom copies of the paper may be obtained.] PAPATOETOE ROAD BOARD. A special meeting of tho Papatoetoe Road Board was held last night in the offices of the Board when the following members were presert, viz., Messrs G. Niccol (chairman), J. Willie, S. Woolfieid, ¥. W. May and J. Bryant. CORONATION ROAD. As the scoria was not completed on Coronation Road it was proposed by the chairman and seconded by Mr May and carried that 12 loads should be put on the road so a3 to extend the scoria as far as Mr Cobine's gate. STORM WATER DRAINAGE. The matter of Mr Woolheld's claim, as reported at the last meeting, that the decision of the Board to convey storm water from Coronation road on to his property would be injurious to his interests and that he would hold the Board responsible for damage arising, was then dealt with. Mr Bryant, in accordance with notice of motion, moved that the resolution authorising the laying of pipes to carry the water into Mr Woolheld's gully should he rescinded. The motion was seconded by Mr May and agreed to. Mr Wooliield explained that he required the Board to put about eleven 15 in. pipes into his property which he considered would hi; cheaper than constructing a culvert at the cornei of the ku-J. £Mr John Wyllie thought that tho Board were not as a matter duty bound to put bridges on people's property. If the drain on tin- road was cleared out it would do away with all the difficulty. The chairman said that the Board did not reckon on going to the expense of putting in pipes on Mr Woolheld's property as the water was not doing any material]damage. Ocii'iderifig uL' the work that had been done on Mr Woolheld's road of late he thought it very unreasonable for Mr Woolfieid to tke up the attitude towards the Board that he bad done. The chairman abo explained that if such woik was done in that instance it would be open for anyone who was troubled with storm water to come to the Board and ask for their property to bo pip?d. After much discussion it was proposed by Mr Bryant, and seconded

by Mr May, that the whole matter should he left in the hands of the chairman and Mr John Wyllie to meet Mr Wooliield on the ground and to lix the matter up —This was carried. WYI.I.IK PARK. A letter was read from the Wyllie Park Syndicate asking the Board to meet a deputation of that body in order to go into the matt<>r of reading Wj Hie Park and to discuss the plans for the same. On the motion of the chairman it was decided to meet the deputation on the ground on Monday morning, April 2nd, at I<> o'clock. CONSULTING ENGINEER WANTED. Mr May proposed that the Board at its next meeting should discuss the advisability of engaging a consulting engineer for any future undertakings.—Curried. CENTRAL AVENUE. Permission was granted Mr T. Clow to open up Ceatrul Avenue for the purpose of laying a pipe across the road. BEAUTIFYING THE DISTRICT. Mr May asked the Board if they would support him in a motion re a tree-planting and beautifying scheme for Koluiar, Station and Wallace Boads and moved that the matter be brought up at the next meeting and that the " Pukekohe Times " should be asked to give the scheme its suppoit.—This was carried unanimously. FINANCE. Accounts for £B2 9s 2d were passed for payment and also the following royalties, viz , Mr Isaac Gray £9 15s 9dandMrW. McLauchlan £3 14s 6d. NEXT MEETING. The next ordinary meeting of the Board was fixed for Tuesday, April 10th, at 8 o'clock. —♦■
