HAMILTON'S DEVIATION SCHEME. ( LOAN POLL RESULT. Polling took place last Saturday r . in connection with the proposal of the Raglan County Council to raise a loan of £6OO for what is known as Hamilton's Deviation Scheme on the Onewhero-Wairamarama main road, the same having been the subject for some time past of heated local controversy. 83 votes were cast in < favour of the loan and 69 against but as the necessary three-fifths' '; majority was not secured as required by the Counties' Act the proposal was lost. A similar fate attended the poll taken last October when the voting was For 72 and Against 59.
