(Bee also page 4.) WAIROA ROAD BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Wairoa Road Board was held in the Board's Office, Clevedon, on Thursday, March 15th, present: Messrs A. D. Bell (chairman), J. Luke, J. McConaughy, H. Welsh, Wm. Duder and A. E. Bailey (clerk). DOG REGISTRATION. It was proposed by Mr Bell, seconded by Mr H. Walsh, and carried, That the dog registration fees for the current year be for cattle, sheep aud rabbit dogs 2s 6d each, pointers, hounds, retrievers, setters, bull dogs, Newfoundlands, St. Bernards and all fancy breeds 10s each, Mr J. Clarke to be registrar. matiieson's road. Mr Luke proposed and Mr Walsh seconded, That £lO be spent on repairs on this road Owners of property fronting the road to be notified to clear the noxious weeds.—Carried. NEBS VALLEY ROAD. It was resolved to do about ten chains of forming and metalling on Ness Valley Road at Messrs Bunt Bros, entrance, and two chains of metalling opposite Mrs Murrays. water supply. Mr Blake, manager of the Clevedon butter factory, representing the N.Z Dairy Association, waited upon the Board and presented a petition from the owners and occupiers of property in Clevedon township, requesting the Board to consider the advisability of providing the township with a water service from the springs on the Reserve, and if the scheme was found practicable to endeavour to give effect thereto as soon as possible. The petition contained about 30 signatures. After discussion Mr Walsh proposed, Mr Duder seconded, That the petition to the Board for a water supply for the township be presented to the Manukau County Council, with the request that they would favourably consider the matter and take the necessary steps to instal the water service. The motion was unanimously carried. WHARF BUTTER SHED. Mr Blake ako drew attention to the subsidence, between the butter shed and the bank of the river, and asked the Board to erect a barrage to prevent the butter shed and bank from being damaged It was resolved to attend to the matter and to put in six 20ft. totara piles to strengthen the wharf butter shed. CLEVEDON TO HU>'UA RIVER ROAD. Mr Walsh reported that the Franklin County Council were petitioning the Minister of Public Works to open up the Wairoa River road, connecting the two districts, for wheel traffic, and were desirous that the Board and Manukau County Council should support them by getting up a petition for the same purpose in this district. Mr Bell proposed and Mr McConaughy seconded, and it was carried that the Public Works Department be written to asking them to replace the bridge across the river which had been washed away by flood waters, and to repair the damages to the road caused by floods, as communication between the two districts were now blocked. OTAU SECTIONS. The Deputy Public Trustee wrote requiring'particulars of the unclaimed Otau Village Sections, so as to search titles in Deeds Office, also that an offer sufficient to cover the expenses of obtaining a title be forthcoming. It was resolved that the matter be left in the Clerk's hands to deal i with. J HAMLIN'S ROAD. It was agreed to replace a bridge on Hamlin's road with 642 inch concre'e socket pipes. HALF HOLIDAY. A " Gazette " notice was received, giving Thursday afternoon as the weekly half-holiday in Clevedon. FINANCE. Accounts totalling £2OO were passed for payment.
