BOMBAY.
A social was held in the Bombay Hall last Friday evening as a sendoff to seven of our Bombay boys, who have volunteered for service. Mr George (late of Paparata) acted as chairman and presented a safety razor to each of the guests, viz., Messrs W. Brown, L. Balme, W. Partridge, A. Wootton, W. Ramsey, \V. Fahey and G. Stokes. All of the recipients returnod thanks. Mr H. Sawyer took the opportunity of saying a few words in to Mr and Mis George who are leaving the district and who, during their stay in Bombay have always been willing to assist at the social gatherings, etc. Mr George suitably replied. The following contributed to the programme, viz , Mr L. Wilson (song), Master Payne (piano soloj, Miss G. Wright and Miss E. Balme (recitations), and Mrs Keane (song). The rest of the timo was spent in dancing. Mr H. Sawjer was M.C , and Mrs Keane supplied the music. The Bombay Methodist Church held tin ii harvest festival on Suuday, February 25th, and on tho Monday night carried out a successful sale of produce.
