PUNI.

"IN MEMORIAM."

[Dedicated, with all due respect, to those members of the " Hall Committee" whose efforts have given the district " Controversy Hall " as it is, but not as it might have been.]

The election has passed, the result is now known, Time alone only can show the seeds sown. The controversy now has really begun; The harvest to reap has yet got to come. However, what is, can only be seen, What is to be is hid in a sheen. But not much of Glory, more like it is mxid, And the fall to come will make more than a thud.

I can venture no prophecy, such would be wrong, "The Committee" have done, th« knell goes ding-dong. But what does it matter, their work so well done Stands forth and reflects the opinion of some, Who by their joint efforts erected a hall, A credit to many, but the cause «f this brawl. Opinion, it seems, can place no disgrace, For not one has stated against this good place.

To those who have worked I cal just attention, Their misdeeds are many; too numerous to mention. What have they not done? this Committee now dead, A summary given, 'twill only be said, — Worked hard, yes, too hard, for only abuse Has crowned all their efforts, their position to lose. A memoriam now should stand in the hall "To the memory of those who never would crawl."

Think well and hard, and in years to bo The dirge of wrong deeds that now do decroe Will show forth again in a different way. But the time to go right has gone in a day, And the verdict now given will come back again Tenfold in its force, without oven a rein. Right will crush might with its ponderous power, Take all as it goes, make some cringe and cower.

Again, to thoso men who have done of their best I refer and give credit, not at their behest, But because such is due, and tp those who've gone The whole credit, now thoir's, can never be shorn. Whatever you think and whatever you do Can never alter a right and just view. No one uan deny what ie said here, So long life to them all, and more than good cheor. —Anon.
