TUAKAU.
Mr W. J. Deeble has recently purchased the premises and vacant site ajdoiniog the Tuakau Supply Stores, and intends to erect on the vacant space an up-to-date butcher's shop with concrete floor. The building of more modern premises in the main street should serve to improve the general appearance of the township, and Mr Deeble's enterprise ib to be commended. Under the chairmanship of Mr W. G. Graham a meeting of the Tuakau Patriotic Committee was held on Friday last when there wore present Messrs 0. Revell and W. J. Deeble and Mesdames Patton, W. J. Deeble and P. Lewis, with the hon. secretary. It was decided that no distinction be made between volunteers and balloted men as rogards arrangements for their reception and departure. The question of hslding a sports meeting about Easter time was discussed, and the secretary was instructed to call a meeting of the Committeo to discuss the matter.
