WHANGAMARINO ROAD BOARD. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Whangamarino Road Board was held at Waerenga last Saturday The members present were : Messrs Sampson (chairman), Waite, Taylor, Dawson, Shinks and Keith, together with the clerk, Mr G. Mclnnes. KATE ARREARS. The clerk was instructed to press for payment of all unpaid rates and arrears. SUNDRY WORKS, Authority was given the Rangiriri members to spend £IOO on metalling Travers' road, Te Kauwhata, and also to spend £92 on Whangamarino Station road. The clerk was instructed to write to the Public Works Department asking for assistance towards replacing the bridge over Canoe creek on the Pokeno-Miranda road. Mr Keith was authorised to repair storm damage at Kopuku stream bridge aad Diinmock's road. Mr Thos. McPherson was deputed to refill wash-outs on fall's road, and and to culvert and clay No. 2 swamp on Waerenga-Waitakaruru road It was decided to apply to the Minister of Public Works re grants withheld after approval, and also to make application to the Public Works Department for a road to be constructed across station reserve, Whangamarino, to give access to Section 152. TENDERS. The tender of J. Barrett and party to quarry and break oGOyds of 2Jin metal at Coupar's quarry, Waerenga, was accepted, the contract price being 8s lid stacked and 8s 2d if taken from face of quarry. Mr Wm. Swan's tender for work on Glass road was also accepted. ROAD DEPLETED OF 80IL. The clerk was instructed to protest to the Public Works Department against the depleting of the public road at Rangiriri in order to find spoil earth to fill the approach to the new bridge over the Waikato. WAIPI'NA SPECIAL LOA>\ An application for a special loan of £7OO by the Waipuna Valley settlers was approved by the Board, and the clerk was directed to forward the application, together with all necessary forms, to the secretary to the Treasury. NEXT MEETING. The next meeting of the Board was fixed for Saturday, March 17th. At a meeting of the Auckland Automobile Association on Tuesday it was to make a £ for £ subsidy to Jjw Whangamarino Road Board for the purpose of the repair of some of the bad holes on the road over the Rangiriri Hills.
