STOCK SALE REPORT.
Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report as follows : We held our opening sale at our new yards recently erected at Tuakau, on Tuesday last the 6th inst. It was undoubtedly one of the most successful sales ever held in the district, every available pen being tilled with sheep and the cattle yards were roally unable to accommodate the stock that came forward. There was an exceptionally large attendance of buyors from all parts of the district from as far north as Warkworth as well as from the King Country and Rotorua districts. Practically every line changed hands under the hammer at prices which were considered most satisfactory to the vendors. The following were a few of the principal prices: Shorn and forward lambs, 20s; shorn store lambs, 17s 3d to 17s (id. One exceptionally good lino of woolly lambs made 29s Od. Young ewes made from 33s to 38-s; aged store ewes were in very strong demand selling at from 30s to 35s ; store 2-tooth wethers brought up to 32s 6d ; fat wethers from 33s to 39s ; Lincoln rams were in strong demand and sold up to from Bgns. to yjgns.; Romney rams sold from CJ. gns. to Bgns. ; English Leicester rams from 2gnstolgns. ; Shropshire rams from 2.Jgns. to 3gns. ; aged rams made from lgn. to 2gns. There was a good yarding of fat cattle which sold up to the ruling market pricos. A large number of store cattle met with a very ready sale, almost a complete clearance being effected. Forward bullocks mado from £l4 to £lB 10s; 18month steers sold at £lO 16s: calves sold from £3 10s to £■> 0s; dairy cows made £lO 10s to £l3 I'is.
