POKENO.
FaRMEKS' KIFLE CLUB
The Fokeno, Maungatawhiri and Maramarua brsnches of tbe Pokeno Farmers' Union Kifls Club had bad luck on February 3rd in experiencing such weather for their projected match, and Ehooting was postponed until last Saturday. The ladies of Maungatawhiri Valley had gone to no end of trouble tj make the gathering a succes?, and had all the good things left on their hands. Tha match which is between the three abuve-named branches has attracted a good deal of attention as the teams are all fairly even. The winning team scores a handsome cup presented by Mr Ja?. Keith, and the highest scorers in each team secure* a gold medal each while the rifleman making the highest score at 500 yards wins a useful dressing bag, presented by Messrs Wallace ?nd Co. The committee anticipate a good gathering and some good sport.
