BUCKLAND.
The annual harvest festival was held in St. Paul's Church on Sunday, February 4th, the Rev J. P. Cowie officiating in the morning, and Mr H. Todd at the evening service. The church was tastefully decorated with ferns, nikau, fruit vegetables, etc., which well represented the products of this district. There was a good attendance at both services. The fruit and vegetables were forwarded on to the Society of the Good Shepherd in Auckland WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC LEAGUE The Buckland Branch of the Women's Patriotic League met on Thursday, Feb. Ist, in the Buckland Public Hall, Mrs Wily (President) being in the chair. Letters were received from Ptes. W. P. Ramsay and J. E. Wilshere thanking the League for parcel of comforts sent. During the past month Ptes. W. Leighton, E. Condon, Wi Heta also received knitted goods. The following handed in cash, socks, etc. : Subs Dominion Gift Fund, Mesdames R. King ss, Davy, Neal, Wright, Johnston, Walker, sen., Horne, Hewitt, Tetley, Hill, Miss L. Johnston, Mr Fallon, each 2s 6d. Subs wool fund : Mesdames Milroy, King, each os, Walker, Horne, J. Wylie each 2s 6d, Neal 2s.
Socks, etc: Mesdames McKean Mrs Driver, each 14 pairs, Mr Perrin 5, Mrs Johnston 6, Mrs Walker 3, Miss L. Johnston 2, Mrs Milroy 2, Miss Johnston, Mesdames J. Barber, Murray, Jesser 1, Mrs Avery 2, Mrs Newton 2 mufflers, Mrs Davy 10 muslin shirts, Miss Johnston, Mrs Milroy, Greenaway, Avery each 5 muslin shirts.
