PRICE OF BUTTER-FAT.
In forwardig cheques for butterfat supplied during December the N.Z. Dairy Association advises its suppliers as follows :—" The rate of advance has been fixed after consultation with the principal Dairy Companies in South Auckland, all of which are advancing at the same rate. The advance upon mid-season's supply is usually lower than is made against supply during the early and late months of the season. The difference, however, has not previously been as great as in the present season. All trading conditions are now much more precarious than formerly, which has been a factor in fixing the rate, but the more important reason for the low advance is the unprecedented accumulation of both butter and cheese throughout the Dominion, which has necessitated an all-round adjustment of financial arrangements. There are reasonable expectations that the ultimate realisation upon dairy produce will be satisfactory, thus the later distributions should be much larger than usual. In making these your Directors will give all possible consideration to the convenience of the Association's co-oporativo suppliers and to the maintenance of a just balance between the suppliers recieved during the different periods of the season. The congestion of dairy produce throughout the Dominion is still serious, but the prospect of shipping is better thau it was some weeks since."
