MANUREWA.

MANUREWA ROAD BOARD

At the monthly meeting of the Manurewa Ko.id Board held on Monday evening, loth January, there were present Messrs G. F. -Druce (chairman), A. Muir, P. Roy and the acting clerk, Mr T. W. Bell. A letter was read from Messrs Russell, Jackson, Tunics and Ostler requesting the Board to have the road leading to Mrs Ada Saunder's property and the beach cleared and the fence removed. The Board agreed to attend to the the matter. A letter was read from Mr Hodge of Wiri, with reference to the opening of a road in his district. Mr Hodge who was present at the meeting went into details stating what he was prepared to do in the matter and as he contended that the road would be of great utility to the district he hoped the Board would do all in its power to comply with his request,—After considerable discussion it was decided that the members of the Board meet on the road under discussion on Friday, 30th January, at 10 a.m.

The clerk reported on the condition of the culvert in Mountain road and submitted the price of various sized concrete pipes.—After discussion the clerk was instructed to order five concrete pipes 24 inches diameter and to have the work done as early as possible. The fees for dog registration were fixed for the same as latt year, viz., 2s 6d for terriers and cattle dogs, 5s for sporting and gun dogs and 10s for all bitches, Mr Bell being appointed registrar. The tenders for the formation of Blanea and Beihler's road were then considered, Mr Oram and Mr R. McLarnon being the only tenders received. After considering the matter the Board decided to leave the -matter in the hands of Mr Roy who promised to have the work done satisfactorily.

The clerk was instructed to write those in arrears with their rates prior to legal proceedings been taken Jor recovery of the same.
