WAIAU PA
Mr Joseph Clark laid some GO acres in Western Wolths oats, and it is anticipated that this GO acres of seed will produce a return of £IOOO. The seed was not sown with the object of harvesting but to provide extra feed for one of his herds of dairy cows. The expenditure of the grant of £2OO in metalling Woodhouse's hill has carried the new road from Patumahoe township another mile further on from Karaka to Diury and this will greatly facilitate traction of all kinds on this hill which used to be an obstacle in the past. A mile of formation has now beeu laid out from the old Waiau croamery towards Mr Joseph Clark's. This will practically complete the formation, most of which was done by the contractor, Mr A. J. Moore, two years ago. The big problem, however, with increasing traffic and population, will be to find metal to render clay roads passable in the winter time.
