PAPAKURA.

At the special meeting of the Papakura Town Board held on the 29th ult. it was decided, on the motion of Mr Percy Holt, to abolish the position of librarian to the Papakura Public Library and arrangements were made whereby books may be exchanged at any time the library is open, the clerk (Mr H. W. Geissler) being appointed acting librarian, without salary. A satisfactory state of finances was reported by the treasurer at the recent spec'al meeting of the Papakura Town Board, viz., a credit balance of £226. Accounts amounting to £125 were passed for payment, including £4O for the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board's call and £SO due from the Board in respect of the new bridges at Karaka.
