The Bishop of Rochester unveiled in Greenhithe Parish Church ,a handsome window dedicated to the memory of Trevor George Lawless Hayles. a midshipman, who was killed in action in the Jutland battle. He was a son of Fleet Paymaster Hayles, of Haslington. The bishop, in an address, paid a tribute to the memory of the midshipman, stating that, although only 16 years of age. he had become "admiral's doggie,'' and had also acted as ading flag-lieutenant during that officers' indisposition. When he joined the ship and was told that it might be his last is well as his first brittle, the middy cheerfully replied, "I don t mind that; it is all in the game."
