LADY DIRECTORS
THEIR SUCCESS IN BUSINESS
The lady director has arrived, no less than the lady conductor. And she is taking the place of a man who has gone to the front. Women are taking their places in the business world Wales is supplying some striking examples. Lady Rhondda has become ' chairman" of Salutaris, an old-estab-lished aerated water company, and her daughter, Lady Mackworth, has joined the board of directors. Both ladies may be seen at the offices of the company almost every day. The work of a director is not, of course, new to Lady Mackworth, who assists her father, Lord Rhondda. She is a director of no fewer than nine companies, including a colliery company, an insurance agency,, a coal distributing agency which operates in France and other countries, and a Spanish coal company. And recently the Hon. Elaine Jenkins, the younger daughter of the late Lord Glantawe, was elected •chairman" of the Swansea and Mumbles Railways, Limited, after nerving the company as director for some time.
