STOCK SALE REPORTS.
The N.Z. Loan and M.A. Co. report as follows On Tuesday, at Pukekohe, we had a large yarding, and practically everything sold at high values. Three to four-year s'eers made £l3 17s 6d to £ls 13s, two to three-year staers £lO 4s to £l3 ss, yearling to 18-months £6 5a to £9 17s 6d, steer calves £3 oa to £4 13s, heifer calves £2 2s to £4 os, empty cows and heifers £7 17s 6d to £9 18s, bulls £8 to £l6, yearling to two-year heifers £5 to £8 2s 6d. Fifty steers from Mr Kenneth Kel&ey, Wairamarama, averaged £ls; four two-year-old steers fattened by Mr Jas. Douglas, Pukekohe, realised £l6 7s 6d. Beef was penned in large numbers, and sold at fully Westtield prices.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report: — At our Westfield weekly fat stock market on Wednesday, our supply of fat cattle numbered 398 head, com piising 259 steers, 125 cows and heifers and 14 bulls. The quality of the steer beef was excellent throughout. There was a steady demand, with values on a par with last report. Choice ox sold to £2 10s, prime £2 7s to £2 9s, ordinary and rough beef £1 17s to £i> 4s, cows and heifers £1 19s to £2 7s; steers ranged in price from £l2 10s to£2s, cows and heifers £9 15sto£17. Sheep came forward in average numbers, and sold steadily throughout with little or no alteration in values from last week's sale. Heavy prime wethers £1 15s to £1 18s, no extra prime heavy offered ; medium t> heavy wetheis £1 13s to £1 14s 6J, light and unfinished £1 8s to £l 13s, best heavy prime ewes £1 10s toil 14s; good ewes £1 os 6d to £1 9s, other ewes 19s to £1 is Od, prime hoggets £1 10s (id to £1 14s 9d; good hoggets £1 8s to £1 10.», small hoggets £l 5s to £1 7s. 1494 sheep sold. Lambs penned in full supply, and met with a ready sale at a slight improvement in value. Best heavy prime £1 6s 6d to £1 9s, good lambs £l 4s to £1 Gs, lighter £1 to £1 3s 6d, light 15s to 19s. 310 sold. Fat and young calves came forward in average numbers, and there was a sharp advance in all classes. Runners made from £8 7s 6d to £ll 2s 6d, heavy vealers £5 12s fid to £6 10s, medium £4 to £5 10s, lighter £3 5s to £3 15s, light £2 5s to £3, small and fresh-dropped 16s to £2 2s, weak and inferior 3s to 14s. 101 sold. Pigs were penned in smaller numbers than of late, and sold-at last week's rates. Heavy baconers sold from £3 to £3 6s, others £2 10s to £2 17s 6d, large porkers £2 5s to £2 9s, smaller £1 14s to £2 2s, slips £1 6s to £1 12s, suckers 12s to £1 Is, suckers 7s to 9s fid. 25fi penned.
