CLEVEDON.
WAIROA ROAD BOARD. A special meeting of the above Board was held at Clevedon on Monday, 27th November, Mr Bell presiding. Teamster.—Only one application was received in response to the Board's advt. for a teamster, viz., from Mr Leo Alexander, who was unanimously elected to the position. Road Formation.—lt was resolved when the weather is suitable to do road formation on Kauri Clump road, North road and Maitaitai road. The chairman and Mr Luke were deputed to interview Mr Simkin re metal on his place for Ness Valley road. Memorial for Fallen Soldiers. — This matter was discussed and advanced another stage by a resolution being passed that the clerk of the Board should be authorised to prepare subscription lists and to receive voluntary subscriptions in aid of the funds of a suitable memorial to be erected in the district in memory of those local men who have fallen at the front, and a roll of honour to be inscribed on the memorial of the local men who have offered their services in the Expeditionary Force. -♦
