County Work at Rama Rama.
iTO THE EDITOR.,
Sir, —I should like to correct a statement published in your paper of 24 th At the County Council meeting held on November 22ud the engineer is stated to have infoimed the Council, with ref 3rence to my letter to that body, that " the gate in (question had not been in use for severa years, and thus no harm had been done by taking it down " In the first place this is untrue, for the gate was in constant use for carting all produce out, driving cattle, etc, until the Council cut the bill down and left the entrance to the gate five feet above the level of the road, making it impossib'e to drive in to the gateway. That no harm was done by leaving the wires loose, and the paddock open to the road, I will leave to the common-sense of the Council. As they are all farmtrs they will know the inconvenience caused through stray cattle and hoises on the road and a fence they can walk through.—l, am, etc ,
