Mr J. Jones, auctioneer, Victoria and Lome streets, Auckland, reports sales as follows: —
The market this week has been very good, and large supply of potatoes has come to hand, with values lower. Poultry in very heavy supply to a good market for prime conditioned birds. Turkeys are in strong demand. Pigs selling well. We quote: — Poultry 11800 penned)— Hens, prime 3s 3d to 4s 2d, good 2s 9d to 3s 2d, poor 2s 3d to 2s sd'; ducks, young 2s to Is 4d, old ducks 2s to 3s; roosters, prime 4s Cd to 5s Bd, good 4s to 4s 4d, small 3s to 3s 8d; cockerels Is 3d to 2s; chickens 5d to 9d; ducklings, 4d to 9d; geese 4s 6d to 5s 9d; turkeys, gobblers9sto lis 9d, hens 4s 9d to Bs. Pigs 14s 6d to 19s 6d. Farm produce—Pototes, new prime lid to lfd, good 1-J-d to lid, small M, Southern potatoes £l4; onions," Melbourne 20s, local new 18s; swedes £4; pumpkins 8s; kumeras 10s.
