Men writing home have said that Father Doyle deserved thi> V.C. half a dozen times. He was killed in action on August 1.9. While lie was ministering to the wounded men in the advanced dressing station a German shell crashed into tilie building, Jelling <ir wounding everyone there. Father Doyle wis wounded in several places, and died later in the day. He was horn in in Kimherfoy, S.A.. and was attached to the LeUlster Rogiment.
