BUCKLAND.

A highly successful patriotic dance was held in the Public Hall on Wednesday. Favoured with a fine night and dry roads the building was packed, visitors being present from Pukekohe and surrounding districts. The hall was tastefully decorated with evergreens and flags, the former being kindly provided by Mr A. P. Potter. The expenses being borne by a committee composed of the single young men of the district, enabled the nett proceeds amounting to £6 odd to be handed over to the local branch of the Lady Liverpool League. Dancing commenced at 8 p m. and continued with zest until the " wee sma oors." Mrs Davy supplied the music in her usual good style, while Messrs W. Jeffries and I. Wilcox acted with efficiency in the capacity of M.C.'s. The catering in the hands, of Mr A. P. Home left nothing to be desired. The secretary, Mr G. McPherson, and the committee are to be congratulated upon the success of the evening.
