M. Barriball responding. In eloquent terms Mr 8. Oldfield nest spoke of the gallant deeds done by "Our Boys at the Front," a toast that was honoured in silence. " Local Authorities " was submitted by Mr W. S. McConnell, and was replied to, on behalf of the Waiuku Town Board, by Mr H. •>. Mellsop. Mr J. Gribble then proposed the " Waiuku Chamber of Commerce," and the president (Mr W. Adamson), responding, claimed that there was ample scope for activity on the part of the Chamber without over-lapping on the Town Board's work. " Neighbouring Chambers of Commerce " was submitted by Mr W. L. Henton, Messrs H. Dell, F. Perkins and J. P. Asher (Pukekohe) all replying. The concluding toast was " Agricultural Interests," proposed by Mr T. E. McMillan, and responded to by Messrs A. L. Hull, L. F. Shakespear and Eber Barriball.
