BUTTER-FAT COMPETITION.
The Results. In the butter-fat competition announced at Clevedon on Saturday last in connection with next Saturday's show, the first and second awards went to Shorthorns owned by Mr W. J. Hyde and Mr J. B. Aickin respectively and the third to a Holstein owned by Mr A. Ryburn. Fourth prize was secured by a cow belonging to Mr A. D Bell. The wianing cow averaged 2.891bs of butter-fat per day, and the other 11 cows in the competition over 2lbs, which is considered to be highly satisfactory. A feature about the winner is that she is 16 years old and secured first honours also in 1913.
The milk samples were taken ou Thureday, the 9th inst., and in spite of the miserable weather, the results were very satisfactory. The following is a list of the competitors and the weights, etc., in their order of merit: —
