PAPAKURA.

When the men employed on the railway easement grade works in the vicinity of Papakura had ceased work on Wednesday afternoon last they congregated at Inspector Osborne's office for the purpose of making a presentation to Guard W. Holloway, who has been promoted to the Auckland railway yard, after having served for five and a-half years on the ballast train in the Waikato Ganger T. Morgon made the presentation, the gift consisting of a silver tea fet, and Guard Holloway suitably responded. Progress with the erection of Messrs Kichardson Bros.' picture theatre is proceeding satisfactorily. The foundation has been laid and the framework should shortly be in position.
