MERCER.
Further names have to be added to the list which recently appeared in these columns of Mercer heroes, W. Collie and \V. Tucker have botfc been killed in action. They enlistee from Mercer, where the former wai engaged as a fireman on the railway and the latter in the shipping industry on the river. Arthur Crow hurst, another Mercer " boy," died while in camp at Trentham. * Private H. Coleman, who was on final leave, was entertained at a social and dance in the Public Hall on Friday evening last, and was the recipient of a wristlet watch, pre sented by the Mercer Patriotic League. There was a fair attendance and a pleasant evening was spent. Mr E. Kelly officiated as M.C., and Mrs Bush, assisted by Mr Freebourne, supplied the dance music.
