Clarke-McWhirter.
The wedding was solemnised at the Pukekohe Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 18th, of Mr George William Albert Clarke, son of Mr John Clarke, of Pukekawa, and Miss Frances Margaret (Pearl) McWhirter, daughter of Mrs F McWhirter, of Onewhero. The Rev. S. Nixon officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr John Cummings (uncle), was charmingly attired in a cream travelling costume with Panama hat. Miss Mary McWhirter acted as bridesmaid and wore a pale pink silk crepe-dechene blouse with cream skirt and wide pink satin belt, with a white Panama hat. The duties of best man were performed by Mr Henry Crawford. Both the bride and bridegroom are well-known and popular in the Onewhero district and the bridegroom served his country at Galhpoli, being invalided home to New Zealand.
