CLEVEDON.
The grandstand that stood for many years on the Papakura racecourse and recently owned by the Auckland Trotting Club has been purchased by the Clevedon A. and P. Society. " The structure has been removed to Clevpdon by traction engine and carpenters are now busy putting the building together to be in time for the Show ou November 18th.
Having acquired Mr Sam Browne's hill ranch Mr H. Bi'igham, the local wood-carver, contemplates taking up the occupation of horsebreeding.
Mr John Patton's new motor-car has arrived and numerous are the joy rides indulged in. Mr John Ward met with a painful accident while cutting firewood the other evening. While he was in the act of raising the axe it caught on the clothes line with the result that Mr Wurd received the full blow on the forehead. The wound bled profusely but first aid was effectually rendered by Mis Ward. Shearing operations are in full swing here and in the Moumoukai district. Good blade men are scarce.
