TUAKAU.
A very successful afternoon tea, promoted by the Tuakau branch of the Women's Patriotic League to augmont the Ked Cross Fund, was held in the Public Hall on Wednesday last, when Miss Spedding, secretary of the Auckland branch of the Patriotic League, attended by invitation and made an eloquent appeal for assistance towards the object of the function. After Mr Dynes Fulton and Mr Graham (chairman of tho Patriotic League) had spoken in support of the Red O"" T 'ind a collection was taken ■|i i:.> 1 he procoeds amounting to ' "d were supplemented with ! ,u of £ls from the Patriotic Afternoon tea was served •iM i vere rendered by Mrs F. The thanks of the ladies are due to Mr Eevell who allowed the use of tho hall for both gatherings free of charge.
