STOCK SALE REPORTS.
The NZ. Loan and M.A. Co. report as follows: At Pukekohe on Monday we held a special daiiy sale. There was a large yarding and prices were better than they have been for some time. Best dairy cows £ll 10s to £l7 ss, others £7 15s to £lO 15s, aged and inferior cows £-1 to £6 15s, best dairy heifers £ll to £ 18, others £7 to £lO 10s; bulls, most of which were Shorthorns, sold at late values, best making to 15gns, others 6gns upwards. At Pukekohe on Tuesday we held our monthly salo when, notwithstanding the very bad weather, we report a full yarding. Competition was very keen aud almost without exception everything changed hands at late high rates. Grown steers in forward condition sold from £l3 5s to £lo ss; 2to 3 year steers, £9 10s to £l2 ss; yearling to 18-months, £5 18s to £7 K>s; ditto heifers, £4 5s to £0 lis; empty cows and heifers, £6 7s 6d to £'J 17s 6d ; aged and inferior cows £ 1 5s to £6 ss. Beef: Fat cows, £lO to £l4 10s; fat steers £l3 15s to £l7 ss.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report: We hold our monthly sale in the Waiuku yards on Saturday, October 7th, and had a record yarding, every pen and yard being utilised. There was an extra large attendance and a keen demand. Dairy cows and heifers brought from £8 10s to £l4 15s, small heifers, in calf, £6 to £8 ss, empty cows £6 10s to £8 18s, fat cows and heifers £0 to £l6 17s 6d, two to three year-old steers £8 |lßs to £ll 15s, yearling to 18-months £5 6s to £l 12s, heifers, same age, £4 4s to £6 2s, calves £2 6s to £4 ss. There was a large entry of bulls, but the greater portion was medium-sized yearlings. These made from £5 10s to £7 7s, better yearlings £9 9s to £l2 12s. Weaner pigs, 10s to £1 Is, slips £1 3s to £1 9s. The dray horses, etc., in the estate of T. E. Avery realised fair prices.
