TUAKAU.
AN EVENTFUL VOYAGE. The trawler Albany, which is expected to arrive at the Waikato Heads any day now, is having a most eventful voyage down the coast. About two weeks ago one of the engines gave out, and with fuel reduced to two bags of coal the captain and crew had a most trying experience. Sails had to bo requisitioned, but "no headway was made and the captain had to decide (piickly on the next action to be taken. With no other choice at his disposal he elected to run his boat up ou the beach. He awaited his opportunity for a big breaker and rushing full steam ahead the Albany slided on to the beach at Muruwai, just off Mr Mitchilson's station, 2b miles south
of the Kaipara Heads, on the site where the barque Concordia and the schooner May were wrecked. No time was lost before preparations for re-floaiing lior off were iu hand. Large cable drums were borrowed and put out to sea, and it was expected that she would be floated off either on Tuesday night last or the following day. The vessel is undamaged. Mr Alf. Lapwood's launch " Waika'.o," which was damaged through being beached by the owner at the Waikato Heads when the late Mr Ken Entwhistle lost his life, sank at its moorings last week at Tuakau, when it had been taken by Mr Lap wood.
