MR B. H. ANDREW FAREWELLED.

By Brother Oddfellows. A very enjoyable evening was spent on Tuesday evening last in the Oddfellows' Hall, Pukekohe, on the occasion of a social and dance given by members of the ExceUior Lodge as a farewell to Mr B. H. Andrew, who is leaving the district, a company of about sixty being present. During the course of the proceedings Bro. D. R. Cooper, District Deputy Grand Master, Auckland, asked Bro. Andrew's acceptance of an illuminated address. He referred to the efficient manner in which Bro. Andrew had served the Order, mentioning that he was one of the promoters in securing the hall in which they were assembled and that he lent the money to the Lodge for the site to be purchased The speaker wished Bro. Andrew success and prosperity in his new sphere of labour.

Bro. Andrew, in responding, sketched the progress he had seen made in Pukekohe during his residence in the town. The Address was worded as follows : " Bro. B. H. Andrew, —On behalf of the officers and brethren of Excelsior Lodge, No. 70, 1.0.0. F., we desire to convey cur admiration and esteem for you as a brother and a man for the past eight years that we have known you so intimately. We desire to assure you that we have thoroughly appreciated the impartial, zealous and efficient manner in which you have fulfilled the manifold duties of your office. We further recognise your keen administrative ability not only in our Lodge but in public life in our midst, of which your untiring and self-sacrificing efforts have materially helped in the progress of our district. We trust that you will be as brilliant and successful in the future so that your kindness and intellect may be a guiding hand to others wherever you go. In asking your acceptance of this address as a tribute to the high esteem in which you are held, we wish you to feel that while away from us our thoughts will be with you.—Signed on behalf of the Lodge: W. S. Russell, H. E. Smith, W. L. Jones, W. T. Jones, J. Kennelly, J. Rodgers, A. Schlaepfer, R. Blake."
