STOCK SALE REPORTS.
Messrs Alfred Bucklaud and Sons leport as follows : At Pukekohe on Monday, September 25, we held our monthly sale and had a good yarding of all classes of stock. Buyers were numerous and a strong demand existed, prices ruling high. Wei - bred nice-conditioned three to four-year-old steers, £l2 5s to £l4 8s; two to three-year-olds, £8 15s to £ll 10s ; yearling to !8-month steers, £6 to £7 15s; heifers, same age, £4 10s to £5 15s ; empty cows, £6 10s to £9 ss; aged store cows, £4 10s to £6 ; calve?, £2 5s to £3 15s ; fat cows and heifers, £8 10s to £l4 5s ; springers, £7 to £l4, according to quality ; bulls, £6 to £l3 13s. On Wednesday at our weekly Westfield fat stock market we penned fat cattle to the number of 277 head, comprising 162 steers, 112 cows and heifers aud three bulls. There was a steady demand throughout. In a tew instances values were inclined to be firmer, but generally values were unchanged. Choice ox sold to £2 8 s ; prime, £2 5s to £2 7s ;oi dinary and rough, £ 1 13s to £2 Is ; cows aud heifers, £1 17s to £2 5s ; steers ranged in price from £l2 17s 6d to £25 15s ; cows and heifers, £8 10s to £l6 7s 6d. The highest averages for steers included eight from Mr Syd Eyre, Pukekawa, £l7 15s lid ; 20 from Mr A. Muir, jun, Manurewa, £l7 jlls ; eight from Messrs Lyons Bros , Maungatawhiri Valley, £'6 16s lid : 34 small nice quality steers from Mr Ted Muir, Onewhero, £l4 7s. The sheops were moderately tilled with a nice class of mutton. Competition was good a: d on the whole there was an improvement on last week's sale. Theie was a large yarding of spring lambs and m consequence prices rocoded about 5s head Heavy, £1 4s to £1 8s ; good, 19s 6d to £1 2s , lighter, 17s to 18s 6d ; light, 15s 6d to 16s (id. (84 sold). Fat aud young calved came forward in full numbers, and till classes sold uud( r keen competition at a further advance in prices. Runners made from £7 10a to £9 l-'s 6d ; heavy voalers, £5 to £6 15s ; medium, £4 to £4 17s (id ; lighter, £2 17s 6d to £3 15s ; light, £2 to £2 15s: small and fresh-dropped, 5s to £1 18s. J0« calves sold). There was a full ya;diutf of pigs, and with the exception of weaners were easier in price.
