FUBLIC HALL SCHEME,
Another move forward WBB made od Tuesday night in connection with the provision of a hall, recently decid d by the residents as being a necessity for the di&trict. The necessary details in connection with the plans and specifications were settled upon, and tenders are being called for the work of erection, sacb tender* to close on the 30tb inst. The clfer art made by Mr Whinray, a new-corner in this district, rendered the work of the committee in regard to the selec-, Hon of a site a very easy one, and the position chos:n, fronting the Fukekobe-Puni road, is a particularly suitable one for a building uf this description. The spirit prompting Mr Whinray's otter will be acknowledged by all residents as a magnanimous one, and thanks are due to him tor helping the matttr along ae be has do; e. The survey and other details relating to the title of the site are now well in band, and at an earl;- date the freehold should be vested in the trustees of the Hall Fund.
