MAUKU.

There was a pleasant function last Wednesday evening when Private Walter l)a vies of the 18 th Reinforcements, was farewelled by members of the congregation of St. Bride's Church, of which he has been organist for the last three years. Mr and Mrs Cutheld kindly lent their house for the occasion and about fifty of the congregation attended and spent a very pleasant evening. Private Davies was the recipient of a radium-faced wristlet watch and an auto-strop razor as souvenirs and tokens of the esteem in which he is held, the Vicar, the Kev. J. C. Fussell making the presentation.
