Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report as follows: - On Wednesday at our weekly Westiield fat stock market our supply of* fat cattle numbered '273 head, comprising 181 steers, 00 cows and heiferj and two bulls. Although these numbers are loss than the average, there was no improvement in values. Choice ox sold to £2 7s; piime £2 4s to £2 6s; rough and plain, £1 13s to £2 2s ; cows and heifers, £1 17s to £2 ss; steers ranged in price from £ll 10s to £lO 15s; cows and heifers, £7 10s to £ll 17s 6d; the highest averages for steers were 16 from Mr H. Eeed, Waerengd, £lB 10s : 8 from Mr Jas Potter, Pukekawa, £l7 18s Id; 8 from Mr Hunter, Pukekawa £l6 16s 3d. There was an average supply of mutton, including a few lines of extra well finished wethers. There was a strong demand, and all prime sheep advanced Is 6d to 2s Od per head. Extra heavy prime wethers made from £2 Gs to £2 Bs, heavy prime wethers £2 Is to £2 ss, medium to heavy £ 1 18s to £2 0s (id, unfinished £1 13s to £1 17s, best ewes to £2 O.s 9d, good ewes £ 1 lls

We penned loss than our usual number of fat and young calves and there was an improvement in prices. Runners made from £6 10s to £8 17s (id, heavy veald'S £1 5s to £5 10s, medium £3 10s to £4 2s (id, lighter £2 15s to £3 !»s, light £2 to £2 12s, small and fresh dropped 3s to £1 185.—65 sold. Pigs were penned short of requiiemonts, and there was a sharp rise in prices. Choppers brought from £5 2s (id to £7 2s od, heavy bacouors, £4 5s to £5, medium £3 15s to £ I Is, light £3 8s to £3 lis, large porkers £2 15s to £3 ss, smaller £2 Os to £2 lis, small £2 to £2 Bs, slips £1 10s to £1 17s 6d, woaners 15s to £1 Bs. 105 sold.
The N.Z. Loan and M.A. (Jo. repoit:- - At Pukekohe, mi Monday, wo held a special dairy sale. Tliore was a large yarding, and we report a good sale. Best dairy cows £lO 10s to £l(3 log, others £o' to £9 16s, aged and inferior cows £3 10s to £5 3s, best dairy heifers £ ( J to £l2 10s, others £0 10s to £8 15s, bulls (igus to 15gns, according to quality. On Tuesday we held our Pukekoho monthly store sale, when there was a full yarding. A large number of buyers were in attendance, cowpetitition being extra keen, prices improving for all classes. The advertised three to three and a-half year old .steers sold at from £l2 lis to £l 6 16s, two to three year steers £0 to £ll 10s, yearling to 18-mouths steers £5 12s to £8 7s b'd, steer calves £i 5s to £5 Bs, heifer calves £2 15s to £4 7s, yearling to 18months heifers £-1 10s to £O, empty cows and heifers £0 l"is to £8 -is.
