The Hunua Hall.
[TO TBE EDITOR"! Sir,—As an old shareholder in the Hunua Hall I would just like to Fay a few words re a letter written by D.M. appearing in your paper. He is quite correct when he states that the Hall was built by shareholders, that is by the settlers and settlers' sons taking from one to ten shares of £1 each, but dressing rcom«, supper room, piano, etc , have been added to the hall out of funds provided by amusements held in the buil-iing which have been bia'nly organised by the half committee. The hall still requires many improvements and I brieve the committee are still willing to receive new shareholders. I-tbink it is up to D.M. to fall into line with the rest of the settlers of the district and take at least a £1 share. Then he would be eutitled as a shareholder to criticise the actions of the committee in making their charges fur the Lire of the hall. I c rasider it is very creditable uf the younger member* of the district who have bought shire J in the hall and continued looking after the welfare of the hall that their older brothers had so successfully started. 1 for one, as a shareholder,, would be very sorry to Beo the hall turned over to the public as D.M. suggests for every Tom, Bill, Jack and Harry to do as they pleased with it.—l am, &c, SHAREHOLDER.
