AUCKLAND MARKET REPORT.

Mr J. Jones, auctioneer, Victoria and Lornc streets, Auckland, reports, under date of Saturday, September 2nd, as follows : The market this week has been exceptionally brisk, and a large volume of business has been done. Ihe poultry market is lira, and for choice young birds high rates have been obtained. Kumeras are in very heavy supply, aud prices have dropped. Potatoes, swedes and lemons are much lirmer. Eggs are easier. The grain market shows no change. We quote : Poultry (875 penned).—Hens, extra choice heavy 4s 3d to ss, good :5s lilt) os lOd, others 2s lOd to 3s 2d the advertised pullets realised a strong demand, and brought from 4s Gd to 7s 3d). Ducks 3s 3d to 4s 6d. Roosters, prime up to 5s sd, good 3s 10d to Is sd, small 33 to 3s 7d. Gesse ss. Turkeys, gobblers according to quality 8s Od to 15s 6d, hens, 4s to 7s Ducklings Is each. Pigs, 12s Od to £ 1 ss. Faim Produce—Table potatoes, £lO to £lO 10s, various seed varieties, Northern Star and Gamekeeper, £7 to £8 ss. Swedes, £3 to £l. Carrots, £2. Kumuaras, £8 to £9 10s Onions, £8 10s. Dairy Produce—Butter Is to Is 2p ; eggs Is to Is Id ; cheese Bid to 9id ; hams O.jd to llid ; sides, lOd to 11 id ; honey, 3id to lid. Fruit—Lemons, choice, 7s 9! to 10s 6d; p.rn, oranges, 7s to Ss 6d; apples, Ss 9(1 to 12s 6d. Grain—Wheat," 5s 6d; oats, 3s 6d ; bran, £5 10s ; sharps, £8 5s ; chall, Southern, £7 15s to £8 ss; barley, 4s 3J; Algerian oats, 4s 9d.
