M.P.'S SOX WHO ENLISTED AS PRIVATE AT 15. Second-Lieutenant Richard J. Sh-e----ban, of the Royal Munstcr Fusiliers, one of throe sons of Captain I). I) Sheehan M.P., who are serving with the colours, has been wounded at the front. He joined the 7th LcUistois as a private when 1">1 years of ag.\ and got hi* commission last September when he was 10 years old. He has sent a message describing how he received lis wounds, stating:— ''l volunte- vd to take a raiding party into the Gorman front line, i did it two nights in succession. Thev were, how ever, prepared for us the second night. Immediately we got up lo throw our bombs they threw th.-Ts. Two bombs, landed quite close to me, and 1 lay in a shell hole stunned for some time. When 1 came to I was alone, and as it was getting rather light T got up and made a rare for it. The Huns turned on a machine gun, and one bullet just grazed my arm. 1 got two wounds from the bombs—one in the ja,w and another in the left arm, below the elbow. Lieutenant Sheebaii's wounds are not s"i ions, and. he hopes to bo in the firm: line soon again. A transport landed at Toulon recent. ly 1200 Austrian prisoners of war. who were captured by the Servians at the outbreak of hostilities. * * * * The suggestion is being put forward that a. Hag should ho d signed as the Standard of the Allied Nations.
