NEW ZEALAND DAIRY ASSOCIATION.

The Year's Operations. Better financial results than were anticipated are shown in a circular issued to the shareholders in the New Zsfcljiad Dairy Association hv the managing director, Mr H. E. Pacey. The average payment for outter-fat for the past season is stated to be nearly 16|d per lb.

The circular states tbat notwithstanding the unfavourable climatic conditions in some districts, the output has shown great increase, and the financial results have even been better than were anticipated recently. In addition to the record payment Irom month to month, a further distrbiution ot ]£d per lb butter-fat supplied for butter making only is available for distribution to suppliers who hold the necessary qualifying shares. This will absorb the sum of approximately £83,000. A further sum of approximately £SOOO has been appropriated for a dividend at the rate of 6 per cent per aonum, upou amounts piid up as un March 31st. This on first and second issue shares is equal to, say, |d per lb fat.

Including all payments on a batter-fat basis for all-the-year-rouud supply, including daily delivery from September to March inclusive, direct to central factories, the average payment for the year is 15.73 d—practically Id —per lb butter-fat, which, it is believed, will prove a record for any part of the Dominion for any year. This is for supply which does not 'pass over the railway. Wberc the railway is used the payments are id per lb less, Ordinary railage is paid by the Association. Supply for cheese manufactured in the four centres where cheese factories have oeen erected by the Association will also ba subject to further substantial payments, particulars of which will be announced in a day or two.

The circular also seta forth figures of payments made by the Association as compared with payments made by the Waikato Coop. Dairy Co., showing advantages to the Association suppliers in different districts as follows, viz.Tuakau 5-1 Gtbs of a penny; Ardmore, gd; The Elbow, Puni and Mauku, id; Maungatawbin Valley, 9-16ths of a penny; Pukekawa, 9-]6ths of a penny; Bombay and Paparata, Ulenbrook, Id; Waiau Pa, Id; Waipipi and Kohe Rohe, Id.
