DISTRICT NEWS
PATUMAHOt MAUKU FARMERS' UNION. The monthly meeting of the Mauku branch was held in the Patumahoe Hall on the 17 th inst. There was a fair number of members present, and the president (Mr R. Johns') occupied the chair. NAVY LEAGUE FUNDS. A letter was received from the Provincial President regarding the Executive's action in connection with the above relief funds. It was proposed by Mr Finlay, and seconded bj r Mr Cuff, that tliis branch endorses the action of the Provincial Executive in this matter. —An amendment, proposed by Mr H. E. R. L Wily, and seconded by Mr A. Bell, that this branch expresses its regret that the Executive has taken such a stand, was defeated, and the motion as proposed by Mr Finlay was carried.
