3 MANUREWA ROAD BOARD 1 MONTHLY" MEETING, i The usual monthly meeting of (lie ; above authority held on Monday last and jnesided over by Mr 0. F. Wallace, Auckland, wrote asking tho Board if the roading conditions enforced by the Board could not be modified in respect to a road which he intended putting through a property at Takanini, so that he would only have to put one layer of metal on it instead of one layer of mttal and an additional layer of scojia.—lt was decided to comply with the request. A CULVERT. An application for a culvert, to be placed opposite their properties on Le Petits road was received from Messrs E. C. Hughes, G. Snook and Geo. L. Le Petit.—Mr Coxhead and tbe clerk were deputed to have the work put iu hand. THE RATE. It was decided to levy a general i ate of three-eights of a penny in the £ and a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the £ ou the capital value of all rateable property in the Weymouth Loan Special Rating Area.

It is tbo intention of Mr P. A. Nield, iu the event of the Manukau County Council laying down a crossing at the side entrance to his blacksmith's shop on the Great South Road, to erect jx handsome pfcket fenco along the frontage the property and to make considerable alterations to his premises and fuither, when the war is over, to erect a tive or six roomed dwelling on the property at the rear of the shop. Operations in connection with the addition of a Sunday schoolroom on to the Wesley an Church are proceeding satisfactorily.
