FARMERS' UNION.

Meeting of Executive. The monthly meeting of the Executive was hold in the Board Room, Albert street, Auckland, on Thursday, July 13th, 191(3. Present: Mr A. A. Ross (chairman), Captain Coibeck, Major Lusk, Messis J. E. Mekgill, R. D. Duxtidld, E. Sornorville, J. S. Montgomerie, N. Ohlson, E. McHardy, E. Gubb and the Provincial Secretary. A letter from Mr Ma'sey was road respecting the settling ol' returned soldiers on tho land, and on the motion of Mr Makgill it was resolved that the secretary be instiucted to forward to the branches copies of the land regulations und also the regulations with regard to pensions. The Waiuku branch wrote asking the Executive to urge upon the Government the necessity for enacting legislation requiring each dairy company in tho Dominion to publish within one calendar month alter the close of each financial year a statement duly attested and signed by its auditor, tuch statement to oontaiu particulars of its business for such financial year as follows : total lbs butter-fat paid for and made into butter; (2) the total lbs butter made from such butter-fat; (3) the total amount of butter mado from each lb of butter-fit aud ''over-run": (4) the total lbs of buttei-fat pjid for asd made into cheese ; (5) the total lbs of cheese made from such butter-fat; (6) the amount of cheese made from each lb of butter —On the motion of Mr Makgill it was resolved to support the resolution. The Whangarata branch wrote protesting against the importation of stubble partridge from Australia.— The secretary's reply was approved. The president reported tho result of an interview by the committee of a deputation from the districts of Rama Rama, Bombay and East Pukekohe respecting the proposed closing of Runciman and Drury and of the opening of a coniral stations. —It was resolved that the delegates to the coaferenc? laterview the Manager of Railways on the matter. The Farmers' Union Trading Co. wrote asking the Executive to advise the branches to support the new company.—lt was agreed that this be done.
